Mauritius To See New St. Regis Hotel
Last autumn the travel industry started hearing rumours of several new hotels planning to open in Mauritius in 2012. We haven't heard any names to go along with those rumours, leaving experts to speculate as to what was planned for this year. But thanks to an official announcement from St. Regis Hotels & Resorts we now know that one of the properties opening this coming September will be part of the chain's ultra-luxury collection.
Mauritius luxury hotels can seem like a dime a dozen at times, so it's important for St. Regis to establish a property that rises above the rest. For starters, the resort will be located on the island's south-west coast at Le Morne. This area is known as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean" because of her spectacular beauty, glorious white sand beaches, and a UNESCO world heritage site that really encapsulates all that Mauritius is. It is the perfect location for the first St. Regis Hotel in the Indian Ocean.
The St. Regis Mauritius Resort will focus on providing the best accommodations to international travellers. The hotel will include a 2,000 m² health club and spa featuring salons for men and women, steam rooms, Jacuzzi, sauna, and a dozen treatment rooms. Central to the resort will be something known as Manor House, a complex that will house the hotel's cinema, pool, library, and more. And of course, the resort will include the signature St. Regis Butler service featuring the world's finest butlers trained in the English tradition.
There's been no official word as to whether or not St. Regis is yet taking reservations for September. Travellers who are interested would do well to contact their tour operators and inquire as soon as possible. Being one of the first guests to stay at the new resort would be a thrill well worth the effort of getting a head start.
While you're there be sure to indulge in all that the Indian Ocean tropical paradise has to offer. Out on the water you be able to enjoy deep sea fishing, diving and snorkelling, kite surfing, water skiing, glass-bottom boat tours and so much more. On the beach you'll find volleyball, plenty of lounge chairs, and more white sand than you can imagine. Inland you're invited to check out some of the local towns and villages, two separate UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and historic and cultural venues.
If you can't wait until next autumn or winter, Mauritius is also an ideal holiday spot for your summer plans. Families love of the island as do honeymoon couples and those looking for a romantic beach-side wedding. And with all inclusive deals readily available from resorts and tour operators, there's no better time than now to get a great price on your Mauritius holiday.
