New Sun Resorts Property Rises From The Rubble Of The Past
A new Mauritius property from Sun Resorts just recently opened on the site of the former La Coco Beach Hotel on the island's Belle Mare Peninsula. Although the former La Coco Beach was one of the more popular three-star hotels in the region, its checkered history resulted in Sun Resorts knocking it down and replacing it with the new Long Beach resort. Long Beach is a five-star property with six-star accommodations and arguably the most sought after beach in Mauritius.
The Belle Mar Peninsula is already one of the islands top tourist spots, but Long Beach takes it up another notch by offering the longest beach of any hotel in Mauritius. At 1km long, no other hotels even come close. Better yet, the length of the beach makes it possible for every single room on the property to have an ocean facing view, complete with at least 109m² of beachfront. The icing on the cake is a width of 40m, the widest of all hotel properties on the island.
One of the reasons Sun Resorts decided to demolish the La Coco Beach Hotel in favor of building new was a desire for something unique and special. Much of that is seen in the architecture which utilizes plenty of African teak and natural volcanic rock from the local area. But even before construction began, builders undertook a unique, specialized demolition process which allowed them to crush the debris from the former hotel. Much of that debris was used for backfill on the site rather than discarded.
As for the resort itself, it features its own small golf course plus access to the beautiful Le Touessrok golf course at Long Beach's sister hotel. Long Beach also offers typical five-star fare including a hotel spa, beauty parlor, gym, swimming pools, and a full array of land and water sports. For your dining options, a central piazza is surrounded by various shops, three bars, and five restaurants offering cuisine from Europe to Asia.
While you're there enjoying your all-inclusive of Mauritius holidays there are plenty of natural wonders for you to take in as well. The island is replete with lush, tropical gardens as well as hiking paths, bike riding opportunities, boat tours, and more. The natural sights, smells, and sounds of this tropical paradise will awaken your senses like never before. And with near perfect weather to spare, you won't be ready to go home regardless of how long you stay.
Sun resorts have invested millions of dollars into their new Long Beach resort. When the time is right, they plan to build a second property on land adjacent to their new resort. In the meantime, they invite you to take advantage of their special introductory deals and be among the first visitors stay on site. Contact your travel agent for more information.
