So By Sofitel Doing Well In Mauritius
French hotelier Sofitel has, for some time, been a household name when it comes to luxury travel accommodations in major cities like London, New York, Dubai, Rome, and Brisbane. So when it came time to launch their new brand, known as "So by Sofitel", there were high expectations. Much to the company's delight those expectations are being realized at the brand's first two properties.
The first So by Sofitel was placed in Mauritius at Bel Ombre on the island's southern coast. So far the resort has been a big hit among clients looking for a boutique hotel experience housed in a large resort. The Mauritian property was designed by Lek Bunnag Architects; one of the premier names in luxury hotel design. Furthermore, world renowned fashion designer Kenzo Takada was given the task of designing some of the hotel's interior features, including uniforms worn by housekeepers.
Those uniforms have proven so popular that even guests are purchasing them which, according to Sofitel officials, make their Mauritius hotel the only place in the world to sell them at the retail level. At their second location in Bangkok the So by Sofitel designer bathrobes, towels, and soaps are equally as popular. Both the Mauritius and Bangkok properties are doing so well the company is planning between 15 and 18 more under the So brand name within the next seven years.
When you think of Mauritius holidays, all inclusive packages typically don't conjure up images of designer housekeeping uniforms you can purchase. Yet this illustrates one of the most inspiring things about visiting Mauritius: opportunities you don't find anywhere else.
Mauritius is arguably the best luxury destination anywhere on the planet due to the combination of luxury accommodations and spectacular, tropical weather. Certainly there are places with comparable luxury hotels and resorts. There are also other places where the weather is it just a spectacular. But the combination of the two is a rare occurrence which is found in few places. When you visit you will find an experience that is completely unique in many different ways. This is true whether you stay at So by Sofitel or any of the other luxury resorts on the island.
What really sets Mauritius apart is the fact that guests are made to feel as though they are the most important people in the world. Even at three and four-star resorts the service is impeccable; at a five star resort it is unparalleled. In addition the rooms are elegant and tasteful, dining options are extraordinary, and there is so much to do on both land and water that guests have trouble deciding at times.
If you've never been to Mauritius, your visit may become a reality when you contact your local tour operator. The sooner you get in contact with them, the sooner they'll be able to begin planning your next holiday.
