Sun Resorts Prepares To Open New World-Class Property

Sun Resorts, the internationally known Mauritian hotelier, is preparing for the opening of its new island resort in April 2011. Sun Resorts already operates three hotels on the island - Sugar Beach, La Pirogue and Le Touessrok - making the new Long Beach Mauritius the fourth jewel in their crown. If the resort lives up to all the hype surrounding it, it promises to be a holiday experience like none other; an experience designed to make guests feel like kings and queens.

Everything about the hotel's design, from architecture to staffing to mechanics, has all been engineered with cutting-edge innovations sure to set the bar for future Mauritius projects. The water system for example, is made up of a series of pumps and sensors that regulate water flow according to demand. In other words, the pumps will only operate at the capacity to which water is being used. If the only water running at three in the morning is a kitchen tap, the pumps will only operate long enough to meet that demand.

According to one Long Beach official, the resort is offering a unique urban experience and atmosphere as a means of staying ahead of the competition. "Mauritius has over 100 hotels", said general manager Nicholas de Chalainso, "if anyone wants to do anything in the hotel industry it has to be different."

According to de Chalainso, Long Beach is one of Mauritius' prime properties offering contemporary design, luxury, and atmosphere in a unique location. He offered as an example the hotels 255 total rooms, all of which have a sea view, and which are arranged in three crescents along more than 1 km of white sandy beach. A unique funding model was realized by selling 90 of those rooms to private investors who then leased them back to Sun Resorts.

Long Beach features five restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine including European, Japanese, and Chinese. For sports lovers the hotel offers tennis courts, wind surfing, under sea diving, and much more. And for those looking for elegance and relaxation, the resource provides a luxury spa where well being treatments enable you to pass the days away feeling like royalty.

Mauritius, along with its Indian Ocean neighbours, are a favourite holiday destination for European travellers. Tourists love all inclusive Mauritius holidays because of the tropical climate, turquoise blue water, white sandy beaches, and the eclectic mix of cultural influences the region has to offer. With more than 100 hotels just on this one island, visitors can choose anything from a simple do-nothing holiday, all the way up to one packed with golf, deep-sea fishing, island hopping tours, and more.

Furthermore, the variety of Mauritian hotels means there's something to fit every budget and taste. Incredible five-star resorts offer the world's finest luxury and pampering, while the three-star properties provide their own magical experience at a lower cost. And regardless of where you stay on the island, all the hotels and resorts are within a reasonable transfer time from the airport.

As for Long Beach, Sun Resorts' newest offering is about 90 minutes from the airport on the island's east coast, in the Belle Mare Plage. It's urban feel should be very natural and welcoming to most European tourists, especially Brits. And while visiting the resort, guests should feel like they are at a "home away from home", according to a group of travel critics who recently returned from an exclusive preview weekend. If Long Beach is as good as the other Sun Resorts Properties, there's no reason at all to doubt the reviews.
