Air Mauritius To Increase Flights To South Africa

Air Mauritius is now competing with some of the large Middle Eastern and European airlines by offering more flights to new destinations such as Johannesburg in South Africa. The airline has been flying to destinations such as Paris and London for many years but now new destinations have been included in their flight schedule such as Mumbai, Perth, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Delhi, Chennai, Shanghai, Cape Town and Johannesburg. The airline is also promising a waiting time of no more than three hours for connecting flights. However should you be waiting for longer than this, you will be put up in a hotel near the airport at the airline’s expense. There are currently flights from Mauritius to Johannesburg every day and two every week to and from Cape Town but these numbers is set to increase when the airline withdraws service from Durban.

The airline is hoping to attract more South African tourists especially since visitor numbers from Europe have dropped due to the economic troubles in the area. However, the island still remains popular with many travellers from all over the world due to the fact that it has just so much to offer as a holiday destination.
