Magical Mauritius And What To Do When You Get There

When it comes to thinking of luxury holiday destinations, for most of us Mauritius is somewhere at the top of the list alongside other Indian Ocean destinations such as the Maldives or Seychelles. It is true that these island nations are stunning and have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world; they also have a number of five star resorts where you will be treated like a star. So imagine how fantastic a holiday in Mauritius could be! The thing about Mauritius is that it is very popular as a place for relaxing and enjoying the fabulous weather while sipping on cocktails and generally just chilling out. It is a top choice for people who are planning their honeymoon because it is a very romantic location. However, there is a whole lot more to Mauritius than just a place to soak up the sun on the pristine white beaches. In fact, holidays to Mauritius are what you make of them and if you want fun and adventure then this is certainly the place to find it. So what else can you do in the picturesque islands of Mauritius

If you want to see more of Mauritius then it might be an idea to hire a car and drive along the coast road for the day. A convertible is probably the choice of car that you are going to want especially with the sub tropical Mauritian climate. The coastline of Mauritius is spectacular and you will get to see some really amazing things along the way. The east coast has a number of drive-in beaches worth visiting and you can see some kite surfers doing their things, while along the south coast, the roads get a bit hillier and you can get a much better view.

If you want to have an adrenaline spike, then skydiving will get your blood pumping. This is not for the feint hearted but if you have done it before, then you will love the 40 second freefall with the Indian Ocean in your sights. Mauritius is the ideal place for this type of activity and the experience includes a helicopter ride so is well worth it.

While Mauritius is famous for its fabulous resorts and top hotels, you may want to get to grips with local life by renting a room in the heart of the country for a couple of nights. Living like the locals will certainly give you an insight into real Mauritian life and you will experience some amazing things. The locals are so welcoming that you will feel at home right away. There are some amazing cafes, where you will enjoy fabulous food and you will get to know some of the people while you are out and about. You may find that you want to stay there forever.

There are a number of islands around Mauritius and it is possible to go from one to the other in a speedboat. Island hopping is actually very popular and you can hire a boat to get around. You will love the fabulous uninhabited islands and will see some of the most amazing scenery ever.

Holidays to Mauritius are something you will remember forever.
