Mauritius Resort Shanti Maurice Honoured With Quality Award

Shanti Maurice, a resort based on the Indian Ocean country of the Mauritius, scooped an extremely prestigious award to highlight its level of quality and commitment to continue improving itself for the benefit of tourists.

The Resort acquired the award from the Leading Hotels of the World organization at a large convention held in the Cape Town International Convention Centre between November 15, 2012, and November 18, 2012. The award presented indicates a major milestone for the resort which has only been opened for a limited period of time.

The award given out at the LHW Annual Convention honoured the Shanti Maurice with a ‘Commitment to Quality Award’. It spells great success for the organization as it’s the only resort in the Middle East and Africa to pick up the award. It’s awarded to the resort with the highest scores in quality. The hospitality industry inspects each resort through a rigid process conducted by anonymous inspectors who pose as normal guests. In this case, inspectors viewed the Shanti Maurice over a year from 2011 to 2012.

Duarte Correia, the Acting General Manager of the Shanti Maurice, described how important this recent award is, and the impact of the resort’s team: “We are extremely proud of this achievement and my thanks goes to the entire team who work hard to ensure that we are continually raising the bar in terms of the quality of the service we provide. It is a true testament to our colleagues, all of whom consistently deliver exceptional service to each guest.”

It’s not the first award the Shanti Maurice picked up. It comes after a long line of similar achievements throughout 2012. When it comes to the industry of Mauritius luxury holidays it’s definitely a top-notch holidaying destination with the awards of: Conde Nast Traveller’s top 30 ‘Readers’ Spa Awards 2012, Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Awards 2012, the International Hotel Awards for possessing the finest hotel in the country, and the World Luxury Hotels Awards best luxury hotel and spa 2012.

The news of such a prominent resort winning such rapport from such major organizations is a major boon for the Mauritius tourist industry as a whole. Government officials have spent a considerable amount of time promoting the country across the globe. Minister St. Alain is a notable figure who recently figured prominently throughout Europe after touring the Republic of Ireland and the UK, which gave the country additional media coverage across countries like the UK, France, Serbia, and Sri Lanka.

It’s also faced with major competition in its own region of the world. The Seychelles, India, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka are four locations which spend vast amounts of money on boosting their tourism markets across the lucrative Indian Ocean region.
