Mauritius Tourism Celebrates Start And End To New Year
The tourism industry in Mauritius has finished celebrating a glorious end to 2012 and a brilliant start to 2013. Numerous pieces of recent news highlighted the progress the tourism industry made as a whole.
One important piece of news came from a Mauritius tourism video being named as the 'Video of the Year' by an Italian group of journalists, under the name of GIST. It is an example of the success of the Mauritius to communicate its message to a global audience. The tagline of "Mauritius, Island of Emotions" clinched the award for the country after it successfully beat off competition from the likes of the Seychelles, India, and the Maldives.
Estimates also predict big things in the coming year as more people begin to explore the world again. The effects of the financial crisis are steadily beginning to lessen as the likes of Greece and Spain prevent themselves from descending any deeper into financial poverty. The emergence of Russia and China on the world stage also means the likes of the Mauritius can take advantage of a completely new market as the flow of visitors from continental Europe begins to dry up.
From January 24, 2013, the country will also have two regular flights flying to Shanghai as a result of the efforts of Air Mauritius. It allows it to take advantage of a market that is slowly travelling further afield. More Chinese tourists than ever can now afford Mauritius luxury holidays , as well as trips to other exotic locations.
Earlier this month, the La Plantation Hotel played host to 30 Chinese tourists who arrived in the country for a one-week stay. The tourism ministry took extra care to show them the best face of the Mauritius. On their final night, they were even treated to a special cultural show highlighting the diversity of the country. The director is half-Chinese and half-Mauritian, so the performance could easily appeal to both locals and the important group of visitors.
The Heritage Foundation also named the Mauritius as the country with the most economic freedom in sub-Saharan Africa. This is more important than many people realise because the ability to trade without interference from the government and justice system means investors are more likely to look at the country as a viable investment option for them.
In order to improve the quality of its luxury holidays the tourism Minister St. Alain has been touring the world throughout the year to create a buzz. It has certainly worked as the likes of Emirates airline has seen fit to increase the number of flights it makes to the country, and Mauritius holidays have featured prominently in magazines from countries like France and Serbia.
We work to give holidaymakers Mauritius luxury holidays by listening to their desires and attempting to fulfil them by placing them in the right hotel with the most intriguing and exciting activities at their fingertips. |
