New Grading System For Mauritius Hotels

In an effort to boost the country’s tourism industry, all Mauritius hotels are now going to be graded under a new classification project which the government has just announced. The offices of both the minister of finance and the deputy prime minister confirmed the project and have also confirmed that the ministry of tourism will be setting up a steering committee in order to implement it. It is believed that this new grading system will help to maintain the country’s image and appeal for tourists. The steering committee will be expected to meet a number of objectives and these will include meeting with a number of sector organisations, foreign partners and tour operators. The steering committee will also be in charge of liaising with other countries that have already implemented a similar system. The main aim of the system as announced by a government spokesperson is to ensure that all standards of services, amenities and facilities in the Mauritian accommodation sector are continually improving.

Althoughholidays to Mauritius are synonymous with luxury and high standards, the government has recognised that a number of hotels may be damaging the good name that the country has built up over the years and this system aims to rectify this. This is all great news for tourists who plan to visit Mauritius and want to have a holiday to remember. With this system in place, they can be sure that they will be visiting a resort or hotel that meets the high standards they expect.
