What Is There To Do On A Mauritius Holiday

Mauritius is a truly beautiful destination for a holiday, but some people worry that they may get bored with the beach life after a while. There is no doubting the fact that this part of the world is famous for its stunning beaches and five-star resorts, but is there more to Mauritius than white sands and turquoise waters

Things to do in Mauritius

Most of those heading off for luxury Mauritius holidays do so to spend their time relaxing in warm sunshine, being pampered by attentive staff, and enjoying gourmet dining at its finest. However, there are some who want more from their holiday and believe that to truly experience a holiday destination they need to get out of the resorts and explore.

When it comes to Mauritius, there is certainly plenty of exploring to be done. One of the top tourist destinations is the Black River Gorges National Park. This is a stunning rainforest with trails for hiking, picnic areas and information centres. Those who want to see some indigenous species as well as magnificent flora will head here. If you are lucky, you may get to see the Mauritian flying fox or the pink pigeon.

Another popular attraction is Seven Coloured Earths, where visitors can see sands that are seven different colours. With each colour settling in its own layer, the dunes are beautiful and fascinating. Another stunning feature here is the beautiful patterns that have been created by torrential rains.

If you love nature, then a visit to the southern hemisphere’s oldest botanical garden is possible when you visit Mauritius. The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden is located in Pamplemousses near to the capital of Port Louis and is famous for its giant water lilies and collection of 85 different palms.

Enjoying Your Resort

While there is certainly plenty to see and do in Mauritius, it would be a shame not to enjoy the luxurious surroundings of your resort. Most resorts in Mauritius are decorated to the very highest standards, ensuring the comfort of every guest.

With fabulous amenities such as on-site spas, swimming pools and kids' clubs, Mauritius luxury holidays are suitable for everyone.

If you prefer soaking up the sun, you can do so on one of the miles and miles of pristine beach or by the pool. Nevertheless, if you are more active and like to keep busy during the day, you will not be disappointed. In addition to excursions to the above-mentioned tourist attractions, you will be able to enjoy other land- and water-based activities including horse riding, snorkelling, kayaking and beach volleyball.

Mauritius luxury holidays are ideal for families, couples, and groups of friends. If you are interested in booking a holiday to this fabulous Indian Ocean destination, please contact us and we will take care of this for you.
